CONSULTING: Auberge Resorts’ Bishop’s Lodge Day Spa Uniforms

I was hired to create a uniform for Auberge Resorts’ New Mexico-based resort, Bishop’s Lodge. The client was guided through various iterations and combinations of garments and accessories within their budget and timeline. We landed on a wearable poncho with one of my favorite mills out of Italy. The first round of development featured custom artwork inspired by the works of Frida Kahlo, vintage woven textiles, print blocking and symbols taken from the Navajo Nation. I started with hand-drawn sketches, then recreated the artwork life-sized and on paper. Once the drafted paper pattern was to satisfaction, I digitized the artwork in Adobe Illustrator and launched a few developments based on what was currently running on the mill’s looms. Once physical samples were reviewed in-person, the client opted for a simplified “7 Steps of Healing” design and in turquoise-inspired color combinations. The final approved poncho was woven from a deep teal and cerulean blue in the “7 Steps of Healing” design. The client is on a reorder cadence semi-annually.
